70-year-old Georgian painter Guram Dolenjashvili was born on March 9, 1943 in Kutaisi. Honorary member of Russian Academy of Arts Guram works in a monochrome technique. He mostly lived in Kutaisi but traveled a lot, visiting picturesque places in Russian North, White Sea, Kamchatka and Chukotka. His works are scenes of everyday life, winter landscapes made in black and white, with graphite pencil or etching with slightly surrealist shifting of reality. Meanwhile, art critics consider Guram Dolenjashvili a follower of traditions Russian realist landscapers Ivan Shishkin and Yuly Klever.
