Keukenhof the world’s largest flower garden. Keukenhof, known as the Garden of Europe, is situated near small town of Lisse, the Netherlands. Approximately seven million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares. Keukenhof is open annually from the last week in March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather. The garden was established in 1949 by the mayor of Lisse. The idea was to present a flower exhibit where growers from all over the Netherlands and Europe could show off their hybrids – and help the Dutch export industry (the Netherlands is the world’s largest exporter of flowers). Keukenhof has been the world’s largest flower garden for over fifty years.

More than half a century ago, Chinese Lion City, also known as Shi Cheng was flooded. archaeologists, who have recently investigated Shi Cheng, called the rediscovered China’s Atlantis – Lion City. The mysterious ancient city Shi Cheng or “Lion City” was built in AD 208. And, in 1959, during the construction of hydroelectric power plant of Xin’an River Dam project, was flooded. The city at the foot of Wu Shi Mountain (“Five Lion” Mountain) went under the water, and around there appeared the most beautiful man-made lakes with 1078 islands. At present the submerged city Shi Cheng remains undisturbed at a depth of 26-40m.

Nikola slothful Festival of land art “Archstoyanie” – the biggest in Europe and Russia Festival of land art and architectural art in the Park “Nikola slothful” (Russian – Nikola Lenivets). The festival was founded in 2006 by Nikolai Polissky, the oldest member of the festival, which is held twice a year. Nikola Lenivets village is located about 200 km from Moscow – in Kaluga region, on the banks of the river Ugra. Part of its territory belongs to the national park. It is open to creative experimentation and is constantly updated with new art objects. Specially invited architects create art objects made ​​of natural materials such as wood, snow, hay, vines, etc. Some objects are functional: rafts, swing, even the toilets. Most of the objects interact with the audience – they can go, ride, climb them.

Photorealist painter Rod Chase is famous for his incredibly beautiful hyperrealistic cityscapes, paintings of the most iconic places in the United States, as well as abroad – in Italy, Great Britain, France. Rod Chase was born in 1965, in Vancouver, Canada, in the Ukrainian family. He started painting as a teenager. In 1986 Rod Chase moved to the United States and began focusing on cityscape, architectural painting in a photo-realist technique. “One thing that sets me apart from other artists is that I will draw out my paintings first, then take it in 6-inch squares and work only on that section. It’s almost like doing a mini-abstract.” Chase works with acrylics on canvas, each piece takes hundred of hours to create. Each painting from Rod Chase is a masterpiece created from extensive research and numerous photographs of each of his subjects. Terem is the old Russian word for house. This beautiful Gingerbread house was created by a simple Russian peasant, local blacksmith Sergey Ivanovich Kirillov. The house was twice on fire, but remained untouched. The fabulous house is 20 km from the small town Nevyansk in an old Russian village of Kunar (Sverdlovsk region). Any passerby can enter the house – instead of a lock on the door and the gate – the button. You press – and, as if in a fairy tale, the door will be opened. And wondering tourists will see a lot. By the way, the GDP of Bhutan is about 2.5 thousand dollars per person per year, and on this indicator the country is one of the poorest in the world. But, according to the infamous GNH – Bhutan placed itself on the 8th place in the world, ahead of all the Western countries.
