In particular, he collects his images on traditional black and white film and produces luminous silver gelatin prints in his darkroom. At various times people had their legendary stars and idols. And 26-year old designer, artist and creative person George Chamoun has created a series of collages inspired by iconic personalities of the time. Stockholm, Sweden based artist titled his artwork “Iconatomy”. This project has been a lot about ideals, patterns and anatomy, and combined the world of film photography icons of two different eras. While still a student, studying to become a jewellery designer, George Chamoun had his first solo Exhibitions in 2012 representing himself as a visual artist. According to the artist, his parents are Lebanese, but he grew up in Sweden. Aged three, in 1988, because of the Civil War, he, with his parents had to leave their native country. Therefore, he feels more Swedish in a sense but still has a huge family in Lebanon.

The Metropolitan museum of art has compiled a collection of photographs taken before the era of digital alteration which feature outlandish compositions. ‘faking it’ is comprised of almost 200 images captured between the 1840s and the 1990s. The exhibition takes place in the Metropolitan museum of art, New York city, USA, from October 11th until January 27th, 2013. The photographs in the exhibition were altered using a variety of techniques, including multiple exposure (taking two or more pictures on a single negative), combination printing (producing a single print from elements of two or more negatives), photo-montage, over painting, and retouching on the negative or print… in every case, the meaning and content of the camera image was significantly transformed in the process of manipulation.’
