Of course, it is unlikely the world will know the names of provincial beauties, and they will not have to shine on world fashion stages. However, they are no less beautiful than the global models. On the contrary, we often see on the catwalks skinny, with repulsive facial features models, and even frankly ugly. Demand for non-standard, memorable faces has captured fashion. And let the world impose its standards of beauty that are changing pretty fast. Yet, classic beauty lasts forever. It is immutable, intuitively felt, we see it and feel it on a subconscious level, and despite glamor magazines controversial beauty standards. One of these provincial beauties lives in the ancient Russian city of Samara – Anastasia Savina, to whom I dedicate this post.

Beautiful Russian animalist artist Viktoria Markelova is passionate about painting horses and other animals. It all started long ago and surprisingly romantic. As a young girl, Viktoria Markelova once saw a horse and fell in love with this beautiful creature. Parents bought for her toy horses and pictures of horses, and Viktoria increasingly dreamed of these animals. Coming to visit her grandfather, an artist, Viktoria always asked him to draw a horse. She herself was gradually beginning to paint. Her first independent drawings of horses appeared after Viktoria was given a book “How to Draw a Horse” and she worked hard to repeat each picture until it was obtained. Seeing the success of the girl, the parents decided to help her. In 1994, Viktoria has successfully passed the entrance exams to the children’s art school in Prechistenka, Moscow. In art school, she spent four years and a topic for her thesis was, of course, the horses.

Unfortunately, as recognized by Kate herself, her height does not allow her to become a model (165 cm – not enough for being a top model, and her weight is 45 kg). Currently, Kate has made ​​her debut as a singer, she sang the song “Thing”, starred in some of the videos.

Nobel Prize winner, her books were banned in Nazi Germany, and her name entered the Gestapo lists of particularly dangerous individuals. Sigrid Undset was born May 20, 1882 in the small Danish town of Kalundborg. Her father was a famous Norwegian archaeologist, and her mother was involved in archaeological work of her husband. Shortly after the birth of Sigrid the family had to move to Norway. There, in the capital city of Oslo she spent her childhood and teenage years. From early age, through her father, Sigrid was interested in Norwegian history and culture. In 1893, after a long illness Sigrid Undset’s father died and 16-year-old Sigrid Undset had to start working as a secretary in an engineering company. Beautiful talented girl Sigrid hated her job, she was profoundly alien to it, when she thought about the work she wanted to die. She was 16 years old when started writing her manuscript, a historical novel set in medieval Denmark.

All 87 participants of the beauty contest “Miss Universe 2013”, which for the first time in the 60 years of its existence, will be held in Russia, have met in Moscow. The contest “Miss Universe 2013” involved most beautiful girls from 27 European countries. However, not all of them are Europeans in the fullest sense of the word: Norway is ethnic Indian, Denmark – Pakistani and France – Tahitian.
The first Miss Universe beauty pageant was held in Long Beach, California and its queen became Armi Kuusela from Finland. The competition was first shown on US national television in 1955. In 1960, the show has left sunny California and moved to the hot Florida. Until 1971 beauties competition in bathing suits were only in the US, but since 1972 the competition is held each year in a new country.
