1965 thriller The collector is an American-British psychological movie filmed fifty years ago. The film is based on the 1963 novel “The Collector” by John Fowles and directed by William Wyler. A great idea was to start a film with episodes of catching butterflies. The film is about a man, or rather a monster, who can’t just admire beauty with his eyes, he wants to fully enjoy, subdue and hide it from everyone. A true collector! This instance of moral ugliness though considers himself a connoisseur of beauty, in fact is empty and rotten.

But then she was told she needed surgery because she “still isn’t perfect enough”. Still isn’t enough for somebody’s pathetic little egos, and somebody’s vanity still wants more. A 19-year-old medical student Catherine Cando was named Queen of Duran, a beauty contest in her home town. She was showered with prizes, including a new Aveo car 2015, a smart tablet – and … a certificate for cosmetic surgery treatment. What a crazy world we live in.

She was 20 years old… In anticipation of the new ballet productions Taglioni suggested Emma to play a pantomime party of Fenella in the opera “La Muette de Portici”. At the rehearsal, when she was coming to the scene, the lush tunic of her ballet costume caught fire from the gas lamps. The terrified ballerina began rushing across the stage, with a pillar of flame rose above her head. Suffering from terrible burns, Livry died eight months later and was buried in the cemetery of Montmartre. Sharon Tate in Eye of the Devil (1966)

Forever young Sharon Tate. Roman Polanski met Sharon Tate at a banquet in London, hosted by Martin Ransohoff. They shook hands, politely talked, exchanged phone numbers and parted. He found her very good-looking, she was very reminiscent of pure American beauty. She was not just a strikingly good-looking. She was neither naive nor stupid, was not ordinary and starlet. There was something non-standard in her. Her father, a U.S. intelligence officer, worked in Europe and she was fluent in Italian. As a teenager, she won several beauty contests and lifelong dream of a career in film, despite the fact that her father feared that in Hollywood she could become an easy prey to predatory men or just an expensive prostitute. Eventually she went there alone and began to bypass the movie and TV studios. After a few small roles Martin Ransohoff noticed her and made her contract.
