Born on 4 April 1932 into the family of Russian poet Arseniy Tarkovsky, the boy grew in the village of Zavrazhye, Ivanovo region. Numerous awards were bestowed on Tarkovsky throughout his lifetime – Andrei Rublyov (1969), Solyaris (1972), Zerkalo (Mirror, 1975), Stalker (1979), Nostalghia (1983).
