Starfish ocean wonder
According to science, starfish or sea stars are echinoderms belonging to the class Asteroidea. In fact, there are about 1,800 living species of starfish that occur in all the world’s oceans. In particular, in the Atlantic, the Pacific, the Indian, as well as in the Arctic and the Southern Ocean, including 150 species in Russia. However, you can’t find a starfish in freshwater environments. Starfish and other echinoderms pump water directly into their bodies, via the water vascular system, as they find it. This makes them vulnerable to all forms of water pollution, as they have little ability to filter the water of toxins and contaminants. Oil spills and similar events often take a toll on echinoderm populations that carry consequences for the ecosystem.

Eaten raw or used for jellies and drinks (plain juice or wine), the fruit is purplish black, with a white pulp. Its flowers are white and grow directly from its trunk in a cauliflorous habit. Naturally the tree may flower and fruit only once or twice a year. However, when continuously irrigated it flowers frequently, and fresh fruit is available year round in tropical regions.

The sky is lighting up tonight as our celestial neighbor passes closer to Earth than usual. According to experts, the Moon will appear up to 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter as it passes 221,802 miles from earth. And it is around 15,300 miles closer than average. Its distance from Earth varies because it follows an elliptical orbit rather than a circular one. The phenomenon is known as a perigee full moon but astronomers warn the ‘relatively uncommon’ celestial event may not amount to much.

The earth has music for those who listen

The earth has music for those who listen

Lupinus. The earth has music for those who listen

“The earth has music for those who listen”. William Shakespeare.
“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” Albert Einstein
