“In my youth, I remember many called the painting – profession, and artists – professionals. Several years ago, a serious illness of my hands almost deprived me of the opportunity to paint. It turned out that it is very difficult, if not impossible, to find some substitute to my work. Gradually, over two years, the disease has receded, and I went back to work, but then I realized one thing: the artist is still not a profession, it’s – a destiny”.
The creative artist adds beautiful irrational features to the familiar images of streets, yards, squares. Evgeny Lushpin belongs to the most outstanding modern Russian painters. His works can be found in many private collections in the USA, Europe and Russia, and one of the most important works in his career – evening landscape “First star” decorates the gallery of State History Museum.
