Dutch artist Johan Scherft makes incredibly realistic 3d paper sculptures of birds, beautiful paintings, etchings, drawings. The inspiration for talented artist is nature, wildlife. Paper, glue, scissors and blade, as well as paints and colored pencils – the basic tools for the author of these strikingly realistic figures of birds. Johan Scherft carefully studies books on ornithology and examines dozens of photos to make the bird look as real as possible. The artist has devoted more than a dozen years to painting, drawing and sculpting, over the years the artist’s skill has increased significantly and strengthened, so that the figures of birds turn out to be “live”.

The work of Johan Scherft attracted the attention of the admissions committee at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, where the artist studied graphic design, painting and graphics. Today he works as a freelancer, drawing oil paintings, as well as creating a paper figures of frogs, fish and other water creatures. However, the most attractive works of Johan Scherft are still considered realistic figurines of paper birds.
