In contrast to Faberge, about the work of Russian silver tromp-l’oeil jewelers is known little, although these workshops were suppliers of Imperial court. Stunning trompe l’oeil silver art pieces were multiple winners at international exhibitions, with many customers abroad. Beautiful artworks of Russian jewelers are still sold at major auctions for big money. The peculiarity of Russian silver tromp-l’oeil (trompley) was the finest imitation of linen napkins and towels, the hyper-realistic effect of which looks so modern nowadays.
