Snowball albino hedgehog
For albino hedgehogs, as well as for many albino animals, to survive in the wild is difficult. Because his coat makes it hard for him to camouflage and he is an easy target for enemies. His unusual coloring is down to a rare genetic defect which affects one in 100,000 hedgehogs. Snowball was found orphaned in High Wycombe and brought to the animal hospital in October. He weighed just 300grams and was suffering with lung problems. Luckily, now Snowball is cared for in Tiggywinkles wildlife hospital, Buckinghamshire, England. Since then, the four-month old hedgehog has almost tripled in size and he now weighs 900grams.
