Winter festival of lights in Japan
The world’s largest light installation “winter light” has opened on November 3 in Japan on the small island of Nagashima. The central part of the installation – beautiful tunnel of light. Tens of thousands of lights illuminate the hundred meters in the tunnels to the delight of tourists. The park is open from 9 am to 9 pm, and there’s always a lot of people, especially on the weekends. The installation will last till March 31.

A game of colored shadows on the floor and walls of stained glass transforms the ordinary world into a fairy tale. And the invention of glass is truly a gift of God to humanity. And the fact is, people make of it a steady stream of miracles. Originally, stained glass windows decorated temples and palaces. Luxury paintings of colored glass were only available to the wealthy people. Even today, stained glass does not apply to the daily acquisition of ordinary citizens. And this post is about beautiful stained glass art created by Julia Slepchenko. She is a talented self-taught artist born and raised in Moscow. Graphic artist and illustrator from Germany works in different techniques. NuKuZu was born on November 24, 1983. In fact, his art is an interaction of different forms of art, from abstract graphics and portrait collages, to painting and vintage photographs, as well as animated images. These truly astonishing pictures are well composed and have strong messages. Meanwhile, most of his paintings are commissioned works created in collaboration with art galleries. Created in unique style, with the use of various colors and textures, these images are beautiful, interesting, and appealing.
Blue Angel of sea – Glaucus atlanticus.
in fact, this beautiful marine organism has various names – blue dragon, sea swallow, blue glaucus, blue ocean slug, and even Blue Angel. Glaucus atlanticus is pelagic, and its habitat is warm tropical waters of world’s oceans – the East and South Coast of South Africa, European waters, the east coast of Australia and Mozambique. In nature, the species of beautiful Glaucus atlanticus float upside down on the surface tension of the ocean. However, Blue Angel can be dangerously poisonous, just to protect itself. Besides, Glaucus is a hermaphrodite, containing both male and female reproductive organs. Unlike most nudibranches, which mate with their right sides facing, sea swallows mate with ventral sides facing. And after mating, both animals produce egg strings.
Glass gardens by Dale Chihuly
Born in 1941 in Tacoma, American artist glass maker Dale Chihuly is the author of these colorful glass installations. He studied interior design at Washington University, from which he graduated in 1965. And, as many of glass artists, he went to Venice to study the high craftsmanship of great glass masters. So, he began work at the Venini glass factory.
As a result, the talented artist has created more than twelve well-known series of works. In particular, Cylinders and Baskets, Seaforms, Macchia, Venetians, Persians, Niijima Floats, Chandeliers and Fiori. Glass-works of Dale Chihuly are elegant and beautiful, and of course, worth of museums collections. By the way, more than 200 hundred museum collections in different countries featured his works, for example, Palais du Louvre (1986), or the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (1999). And as for Garden and Glass installation, it opened at Seattle Center in 2012. Indeed, colorful glass in his new garden looks so natural as if it has grown by itself.
200-year-old Pavlovsky Posad Wool Shawls
A symbol of Russia, authentic masterpieces of this Russian national craft, Pavlovsky Posad Wool Shawls are made at the Pavlov Posad factory in a small town outside Moscow. The factory has been there since 1812. Scarf has always been one of the essential attributes of the Russian national traditional costume as everyday and festive. To appear in public with an uncovered head was considered indecent in Russia, this custom has survived to the present time in the Orthodox churches, women visiting church must cover their heads.
