Opened in March 2013, the seventh annual International competition “Garden photographer of the Year” ends October 31st 2013. Traditionally, the judges will select around 100 finalists. Next, their beautiful photographs will appear printed at exhibition. Besides, they will participate at major exhibitions during 2013, with substantial press coverage. The categories of the contest include various themes. In particular, Beauty of Plants, Beautiful Gardens, Wildlife in the Garden, Breathing Spaces, and Bountiful Earth. Also, Trees Woods Forests, Wildflower Landscapes, and Greening the City. One finalist will win the title of ‘International Garden Photographer of the Year’, and 16 finalist will win ‘Young Garden Photographer of the Year’. In addition, the competition is open to amateurs and professionals alike around the world.

People use different colors to describe different moods, according to research published in the journal BMC Medical Research Methodology. The research proved that Colors we use to describe emotions may be more useful than previously thought. In particular, the study found that people with depression or anxiety were more likely to associate their mood with the gray color. However, happier people preferred yellow. The results could help doctors gauge the moods of children and other patients who have trouble communicating verbally.

Atlas world largest moth
Known as Attacus or Atlas, it is the world’s largest moth, with total wing surface area of 400 cm2 (62 sq in). Their wingspans are also amongst the largest, reaching over 25 cm (10 in). Noteworthy, females are appreciably larger and heavier than males and attract mates by secreting irresistible pheromones through the end of their abdomens. The males sniff these out with a long, feathery antennae. Found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia, it is common across the Malay archipelago. Their name Atlas moths origins either in Greek mythology, or their map-like wing patterns. In India, people cultivate Atlas moths for their silk, secreted as broken strands. This brown, wool-like silk, known as fagara, has greater durabilit. Atlas moth cocoons serve as purses in Taiwan.
