The main attraction here is a unique and beautiful mountainous Danxia. Scientists believe that the local unusual mountains formed back in the Mesozoic era. Zhangye Danxia Landform is concentrated predominantly in Linze and Sunan counties in Gansu Province. Zhangye Danxia Landform is surrounded by colorful hills, which seem to rise and fall like waves: with rock strata of different colors mixed in graceful disarray, it is an imposing and magnificent sight. The Zhangye’s palace danxia formations and its colorful hills cover about 300 square kilometers.

According to researchers, they identified the monkey with a distinctive blue rear end in Africa. They discovered species, known locally as the lesula, after they saw a young female kept captive. In particular, at the home of a primary school director in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2007. The young animal resembled an owl faced monkey (Cercopithecus hamlyni). However, the color of its rear end was different to that of any known species. And the researchers wrote about this in the journal PLoS ONE. Noteworthy, they say, its blue rear end is unique.

In particular, close encounter with a rare giant jellyfish, a five-foot-long jumbo Humboldt squid. His collection also includes amazing pictures of a northern elephant seal bull. It can be 14 feet in length – and extremely rare southern right whale. Bob Cranston has dedicated his life to underwater photography, while also working as a consultant to the US Military Special Forces. He trains military divers and developing specialized diving equipment. Noteworthy, Cranston has seven prestigious Emmy awards for his stunning work.

The presence of many volcanoes in the region, including Erta Ale and the Dabbahu Volcano in the middle of the depression, also finds its cause in these plate movements. Besides, National Geographic named it as the “Cruelest Place on Earth”.
