Born in 1965, in Vancouver, Canada, Rod Chase is famous for his incredibly beautiful hyperrealistic cityscapes. Traditionally, the artist depicts the most iconic places in the United States, as well as abroad – in Italy, Great Britain and France. Chase started painting as a teenager. In 1986 he moved to the United States and began focusing on cityscape, architectural painting in a photo-realist technique.
“One thing that sets me apart from other artists is that I will draw out my paintings first. Then, I take it in 6-inch squares and work only on that section. It’s almost like doing a mini-abstract.” According to Chase, he works with acrylics on canvas, and each piece takes hundred of hours to create. Each painting from Rod Chase is a masterpiece created from extensive research and numerous photographs of each of his subjects. Rod Chase is represented by Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art in San Antonio, Texas.

Born 100 years ago in Petropavlovsk, the Far East of Russia, on December 13, 1913, Tretchikoff is an outstanding artist. After the revolution of 1917, Vladimir’s family emigrated with him to Chinese Manchuria. During the Second World War he was in a prison camp in Java. In 1946 Tretchikov moved to South Africa, there the talented self-taught artist Vladimir Tretchikoff became one of the top 10 artists of the country. Tretchikoff was a self-taught artist who painted realistic portraits, still life and animals, with subjects often inspired by his early life in China and Malaysia, and later life in South Africa. He worked in oil, watercolor, ink, charcoal and pencil but is best known for his reproduction prints which sold worldwide in huge numbers. The reproductions were so popular that it was said Tretchikoff was second only to Picasso in popularity.

2013 Western Film The Lone Ranger – American action-adventure film directed by Gore Verbinski. The film is based on the radio series of the same name. For the first time the heroes of this film appeared in a radio broadcast Jan. 30, 1933 on radio station WXYZ, broadcast in Detroit (Michigan). Station owner George W. Trendle wanted to broadcast a western, which would please the audience of children. He came up with an honest, strong and authoritative character, which the children could admire. So appeared general concept of “Lone Ranger.” The film stars Armie Hammer in the title role and Johnny Depp as Tonto and explores the duo’s efforts to subdue the immoral actions of the corrupt and bring justice in the American Old West. William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, Ruth Wilson, James Badge Dale, and Helena Bonham Carter are also featured in supporting roles. The film marks the first theatrical film featuring the Lone Ranger character in over 32 years. It was released theatrically on July 3, 2013. The Lone Ranger was poorly received by film critics and underperformed at the box office.

Russian professional artist of applied art Marina Alexandrova finds uniqueness in simplicity and beauty of ordinary seashells. Creating colorful and detailed landscapes, still lifes, and fantasy artworks she uses only natural color clams and mussels combining them in color and shape. All her art works are elegant, original, and exclusive, due to the fact that there are no identical shells in the nature. In fact, this direction of art is called Conchology.
Working on seashell mosaic, Marina also uses the diversity of shellfish. Noteworthy, for many of them she has to go to distant lands. But such traveling is not in vain: in the warmest seas she finds shellfish of the most vivid colors and whimsical shapes and textures. According to Alexandrova, she started working with seashells approximately 10 years ago. Now Moscow based artist Marina Alexandrova is a member of Russian Union of Artists, and author of the book “Seashells and Coastal Decor”.

Born in 1972 in Cheboksary, Vladimir Alexandrov is a Moscow based artist. In 1991, he graduated from the Cheboksary Art school, then Moscow State Academic Arts institute named after V.I. Surikov, faculty of painting. He studied in the workshops of professors A. I. Fomkin and V. N. Zabelin. Alexandrov became the Member of the Union of Artists of Russia in 2003. In his works he uses centuries-old traditions of Russian realism. Native landscapes of Russian nature created by Alexandrov are incredibly soulful. Alongside with landscapes, the artist works in such genres of painting as realistic portraiture. He paints portraits of famous and ordinary people, children and adults, as well as copies of paintings of old masters. Since 1994, Vladimir Alexandrov has participated in many group and solo exhibitions in Russia and abroad, including Basel (1994-1997, Switzerland) and Santa Fe (2004, USA). Talented contemporary Russian painter Vladimir Alexandrov lives and works in Moscow.
