For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Similarly, life does not end with the death of a person, but the soul lives forever. But where we spend eternity depends on our life now. Each of us has a chance to learn the truth, repent and believe in Jesus Christ.
