born in 1956, Chicago, Illinois, Dennis Wojtkiewicz is a talented American hyper realist artist and draughtsman. According to the artist, he explores the sensitive nature of time in his large scale oil paintings of fruit and flowers. The transitory nature of his subject matter became encapsulated, transfixed and glorified with heightened photo-realism. Meanwhile, light and translucence make these paintings glow. In order to achieve his desired effect, technically, Wojtkiewicz relies on traditional oil paint and brushes with a classical application. Also, he uses pastel for his drawings.
