Painting on batik by Nadezhda Sokolova
Born in 1973 in Dresden (DDR), Nadya Sokolova is a Russian artist from the old town Veliky Novgorod. In 1986 – 1990 she studied at the Art School of Novgorod. In 1995 she graduated with honors from the advertising department of Novgorod school of culture. Besides, in 2000 she defended her diploma at the Faculty of Arts and Technology of Novgorod State University. Sokolova has participated in art exhibitions since 1996. The artist works with different media – painting, drawing, batik, lacquer miniature and author doll. Noteworthy, Nadezhda Sokolova is the author of the original style in miniature. Her beautiful batik paintings are tender, romantic, soft and lyrical. She uses her unique technique in painting on silk.
