Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist Alfons Maria Mucha (1860 – 1939) produced many theatrical posters and advertising illustrations. Well known jewelry designer and poster artist, he was one of the most famous representatives of the “modern” style. His art, as well as his 150th anniversary became an inspiration for creating very nice series of twelve silver commemorative coins, issued on an island of Niue.
On the obverse – a portrait of the British Queen Elizabeth II, decorated by the ring with a symbolic representation of the twelve signs of the zodiac and the inscription «ELIZABETH II • NIUE ISLAND, 2011, a DOLLAR Ag 925″
