Bronze sculptures by Nano Lopez
Born on October 31, 1955 in Bogota, Nano Lopez is a talented Colombian sculptor. His art, the combination of a classical education and experimentation with materials led to the creation of works of avant-garde art. Meanwhile, the first recognition of his artistic ability came early, when he was awarded first place for best picture in public school. While studying in high school, he made some serious copies of sculptures by Michelangelo. Later, Nano Lopez traveled to Spain and began working in the studio of renowned sculptor Francisco Baron. In his artistic process, Nano integrates organic textures and human made objects into his bronzes to create pieces of art that reflect the same attention to the magic, wonder, and creativity that children find in the world around them.
