Born in Savona in 1980, Mattia Trotta is a young and talented Italian sculptor, who worked in Sarcedo, Vicenza. Mattia Trotta studied to become a industrial mechanical technician, specializing in technology and industrial production. Since 2002, the works of Mattia Trotta is a reflection on the nature and its inner needs. The artist takes full advantage of his technical experience and knowledge of the wire material – steel processing, shaping, leaving light in free spaces. This is the artist’s vision of reality and spirituality. In addition to solo and group exhibitions Mattia Trotta works on theatrical sets, performing installations and furnishings, some of his creations adorn Italian landscapes, parks, and squares.
Trotta directed all his mechanical engineering knowledge towards art, using iron he is pretty familiar with. His creations consist of steel wires wrapped around an iron frame.
