In addition to a crown, Elizaveta (Elizabeth) Golovanova received a check for $100,000 and a grant for studying at any university in the world. The event took place in Barvikha Luxury Village in the Moscow Region. Born in the town of Safonovo, Smolensk region, her mother Tatiana Golovanova is a doctor in the department of ultrasound. And Liza’s father Igor Golovanov is the head of Clinical pathology department. In her childhood Liza studied in music school, and plays the piano quite well. Having graduated from high school with honors, she entered the Moscow State University of Railway Transport, Faculty of Law. Meanwhile, in 2008, she won the contest “Miss Anemone”, held in Smolensk, and in August 2012 represented Russia at the “Miss World”, held in China. However, the most important contest for Liza has become “Miss Universe” held in the United States in December 2012. Golovanova was among the ten most beautiful girls of the world.

Miss Russia 2012, the 20th national beauty pageant of Russia, held in a concert hall Barvikha Luxury Village in Moscow on March 3, 2012. 50 contestants from all over the Russia competed for the crown. Miss Russia 2011, Natalia Gantimurova of Moscow crowned her successor Elizaveta Golovanova of Smolensk, at the end of the event.

Since April 2011 all over Russia held a series of elimination rounds, which were attended by more than 30,000 girls. January 18, 2012, Moscow hosted the final casting, which determined the 50 finalists. February 4, 2012, all the girls gathered in a suburban hotel to start actively preparing for the final. Up until the final contestants were preparing to parade led by professional choreographers who also worked on the physical training of girls. Stylists salons “MONE” created unique images of the participants, then the contestants took part in a photo shoot with photographer Vlad Loktev.

February 22, 2012 a meeting of the contestants from previous winners: Miss Russia 2011 Natalia Gantimurova, Miss Russia 2002 Svetlana Koroleva and Vice-Miss Russia 2007 Vera Krasnova, the purpose of the meeting was to share experience of participation in the contest.

February 16, 2012 was organized by the open Internet voting for contestants on the portal Woman.ru. As a result of the voting was chosen Miss Russia in the opinion of the internet users. March 1, 2012 there was an announcement on the website, that Anastasia Pominova from Voronezh was given to 25,768 votes, she became the winner.
