The cute doggies are inseparable, and the only place you may follow the couple is Instragram, where up to this day they have about 120,000 followers, and within a short period. Before Indiana appeared Harlow’s best company had been Dachsund Sage, he died last year because of old age. Poor Harlow became lonely. His master had to bring a new friend for grieving Harlow. Now his young friend Indiana has become the best company for Harlow to play with.

Do you remember Doctor Kevorkian, nicknamed Dr. Death? The auction held on October 28, 2011 will sell out the machine, designed to minimize pain when end lives. On sale also more than 100 of Kevorkian’s personal items. In particular, artwork, handwritten documents from prison, a bulletproof vest, a paint kit, a typewriter and a pearl flute. The auction will be at the New York Institute of Technology in Manhattan, with a percentage of proceeds going to the charity Kids Kicking Cancer, according to the Kevorkian Estate. Noteworthy, the paintings valued between $2.5 million to $3.5 million.

Held on September 5, 2011, the Vegetable carving competition in Leipzig became the first ever in Europe.
In particular, this sculpture of an eagle – created using fruit and vegetables, a medium many conventional artists may not have considered.

And in the above photo – beautiful and edible bird created by Russian vegetable carver Vadim Nefedjev. Participants showed their skills in sculpture during yesterday’s round of competition.

Noteworthy, the first ever European carving competition took place in Leipzig, eastern Germany. Besides, the competition held during the “Gaeste” trade fair for the restaurant, hotel and catering business, runs until September 6, 2011. Within four hours, competitors have to carve figures in front of the jury’s eyes. And the materials for sculpture – melons, papayas, stem cabbage, cucumbers, radish, carrots and Chinese cabbage.

Russian traveler Nikolai Miklouho-Maclay – an outstanding scientist and humanist, anthropologist and zoologist, widely known in Russia and abroad. In 1871 Miklouho-Maclay went to New Guinea, where he spent 15 months. The people of New Guinea remember the first European who stepped on their land and lived among them as their devoted friend. The bay where he lived has been named “Maclay Coast”.

Stamps have been printed in his honor and there are many legends about him among the Papuans. Nikolai Miklouho-Maclay won the trust and admiration of the local people in New Guinea. And, in spite of the fact that he caught malaria in New Guinea and was very ill, he wrote, “…in no other corner of the globe where I have had to live during my wanderings, have I ever felt such an affection as to the coast of New Guinea.”

Born on 30 July 1944 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg), Evgeniy Dobrovinskiy (Dobrovinsky) is one of the brightest and most influential masters of Russian graphic design. He graduated from Moscow Printing Institute. In fact, Dobrovinskiy works in the field of font, poster, book and magazine design, easel graphics, and in particular, land art. According to the artist, he loves a game of snow and shadows. Here, he feels tender care about innocent trees. And the artist confirms: “It’s not good to be naked even in summer”. Fortunately, some trees, chosen by Yevgeny Dobrovinsky, will get warm in pants.

Russian tennis player Elena Dementieva

Russian professional tennis player Elena Dementieva was born in 1981 in Moscow. Elena played and won her first international tournament, Les Petits As, in France at the age of 13. In 1997, she entered the WTA top 500. Elena Dementieva turned professional in 1998 and entered the top 100 in 1999.

Elena won the silver in women’s singles at the 2000 Sydney Olympics as an 18-year-old and the gold at the Beijing Games in 2008. Dementieva achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 3, which was accomplished on 6 April 2009. Beautiful Russian tennis player announced her retirement on 29 October 2010, after her final match at the 2010 WTA Tour Championships. Dementieva ended her career ranked World No. 9.
