Beautiful and Inspirational Petersburg Stairways
I just love the decoration and interior design of the old houses of St. Petersburg, with their stairways and attics. Built in St. Petersburg in 18-19th centuries, these buildings show us the other, special side of the northern capital of Russia. It’s hard to explain, but there is something attractive in an ideal form of spiral staircases. Interestingly, the architecture of the spiral staircase appeared quite late due to its complex structure. Although the first examples depart back to the V century BC, this element of the architecture is firmly established only in 113 AD. Undoubtedly, spiral staircases give the building a more romantic look.

Meanwhile, each of us has our own staircase, our own number of steps, and our number of floors. And on each of them you can meet many worthy people, loyal friends and best friends, with whom you can gladly share the hardships of recovery. But these people should not be burdensome, detain your movement, because their road is their road, and your road is only yours. After all, we constantly change and by chance met this same person after a while, only on another level, we sometimes feel confused and awkward. And, forcedly smiling at each other, we run up the stairs, a step higher.

And we all go up, someone on the dirty staircase of slums, someone on a luxurious, with a golden railing, and someone just pushes the button in the elevator, and for someone the same does a footman in a red uniform. But it does not matter which stairs we go, it is important that we go up, and therefore overcome the force of gravity, and all our sins drag us down, and go harder, and good deeds make it easier. And a ladder of slums and dirt can lead to a luxurious penthouse or to the clear sky on the roof, and a luxurious staircase can lead to the basement.

So let the steps of our stairs be low enough so that we can go upstairs, but steep enough so that we do not relax, and we will not have shortness of breath at the most important moment. And let you meet loyal friends who will support us and will not let fall, and wise teachers who will tell us the way, if on the next floor the lamp burned out.
