Visionary painter Pavel Bergr
After dark and gloomy Gothic, laced with religious dogma, Pavel Bergr blew a fresh breeze into Italian Renaissance. The talented artist has always had interest in science and art, structure and mechanics of the human body, studying the movement. He began liberating his characters from heavy robes and draperies. Bergr is an academic visionary painter, born November 30, 1957 in Strekov Castle, Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic. He spent his childhood in a Gothic Renaissance castle Strekov in Libochovice. Currently he is working in painting, drawing, graphics and porcelain painting.
The first official solo exhibition was in 1986 at the castle in Duchcove. Since that time, he has participated in more than sixty solo exhibitions at home and abroad. He is represented in private collections in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, France, UK, USA and Mexico, etc.
