Born on March 9, 1943 in Kutaisi, Guram Dolenjashvili is a talented 70-year-old Georgian painter. Honorary member of Russian Academy of Arts, Guram works in a monochrome technique. He mostly lived in Kutaisi but traveled a lot, visiting picturesque places in Russian North, White Sea, Kamchatka and Chukotka. His works are scenes of everyday life, winter landscapes made in black and white, with graphite pencil or etching with slightly surrealist shifting of reality. According to art critics, Guram is a follower of traditions Russian realist landscapers Ivan Shishkin and Yuly Klever.
