Fairytale silhouettes by Lotte Reiniger
Pioneer of silhouette animation Charlotte “Lotte” Reiniger (June 2, 1899 – June 19, 1981) was a German silhouette animator and film director. Using tracing paper and cardboard, Reiniger used scissors to cut her figures, and breathe life into inanimate paper. The cutting strokes provided the figures with characters.
