Beautiful photography by Olivia Bee
18 year-old American photographer Olivia Bee has become a real sensation in the world of photography. Started at the age of 11, she is already experienced and professional photographer, featured in various magazines. In particular, New York Magazine, Grazia, Madame Figuro Japan, Exit Magazine, Vanity Fair Spain, and Elle Girl Japan. Also, TIME Magazine, The New York Times, Vogue Germany, Vogue Mexico, Vogue India, Luxopresso, Wonder Magazine, Strategies Magazine, Bulletin Magazine, and many others. Bee’s photographs, often of friends, look ghostlike, nostalgic, sometimes documentary but always a piece of art. The teenager photographer is already financially independent and living in Brooklyn, New York, but she’s originally from Portland, Oregon.
Olivia Bee exhibits her works in the USA and abroad. She quickly established a cult following and by 15, she had turned professional. “I took a photography class in sixth grade, and I started putting the pictures on Twitter, to show people what was going on in my life.” Her dreams are big and not limited by photography, “I will make movies at some point,” she says. “I want to make a feature film. A collection of memories, real and imagined.”
According to Olivia, she strives to capture the ordinary, but in an extraordinary way. “Life is beautiful, perfect, and cinematic, if you look at the right moments. It’s not always an accurate summary of life in general, but it is those specific moments that make it worth living anyway.”
