Bence Mate invisible photographer
Hungarian photographer Bence Mate attended secondary school in Szeged and spent all his leisure time in nature. According to him, his favorites were birds living in the wild, and most often he worried about how to take better and better photographs of them. First, he constructed his equipment on his own. Bence polished his skills in a determined manner. In particular, he developed the ‘Bence Mate style’, and reformed the practice of “bird in action” photography. As a result, his work received an award “The Young Nature Photographer of the Year” in the global contest of the BBC in 2002. Then followed other awards the Eric Hosking prize (2005), and Bird Photographer of the Year in Europe in 2005. Bence Mate is the most distinguished, flagship figure of Hungarian nature photography, which is becoming more and more recognized.
