The German company “Kordes Rosen” selected an amazingly beautiful bicolor rose under the name Osiria in 1978. The company has created the whole World of roses of various colors, also with variety of forms. Osiria’s main feature is the original color hue. In particular, velvet petals inside are dark red, and silvery-white on the outside. Besides, the beautiful flower has a strong aroma.

Wilhelm Kordes I created the rose garden in 1887 in Elmshorn. Wilhelm Kordes II and his brother Herman in 1919 gave it the name “Wilhelm Kordes & Sons” and made it world famous. Wilhelm Kordes II was interned during World War II on the Isle of Man, where in his spare time he studied genetics. His overall aim was to adapt plants to the climate of Germany. Since 1920 he focused exclusively on working with the plants, leaving the management of his brother Herman. By the mid-1930s, the company has grown significantly. Currently the company produces about 3.5 million rose bushes a year. Their rose varieties are distributed in more than 30 countries.
