Beautiful Russian figure skater Katarina Gerboldt
Born on March 28, 1989 in St. Petersburg, Katarina began ice skating at the age of six. Her parents named their daughter after the legendary German figure skater Katarina Witt. They wanted her to become a sportswoman, but not specifically a figure skater. Katarina is a Russian pair skater who competes with partner Alexander Enbert. Previously, Katarina competed as a single skater. She is bronze medalist of Russia (2009), champion of Russia among juniors (2008), bronze medalist of the stage junior Grand Prix (2008), silver medalist of Russian Championship among juniors (2006). She lives and trains in Moscow.
In Saint Petersburg, Katarina’s coaches were Tatiana Mishina and Alexei Mishin. However, in 2009 she moved to CSKA Moscow and began working with Svetlana Sokolovskaya. After an unsuccessful 2009-2010 season coaches Tamara Moskvina and Artur Dmitriev suggested Katarina to skate with Alexander Enbert. In fact, Gerboldt and Enbert have known each other since childhood. During the 2010–2011 season, Gerboldt and Enbert made their international debut at the 2010 Coupe de Nice, which they won. In the 2011–2012 season, Gerboldt and Enbert competed in one Grand Prix event, the 2011 Cup of Russia. In 2012–2013, they were assigned to Skate Canada but withdrew due to injury – Gerboldt tore a ligament. She underwent surgery on August 2 – a week after the injury – and on October 3.
