The first edition of the Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux Exotiques appeared in Paris in 1836. The authors of these antique prints with the engravings are the Pauquet brothers, who published them nearly 200 years ago. The beautiful antique prints depict a variety of exotic birds in all their natural splendor. In particular, parrots, parakeets, toucans, peacocks, hummingbirds, nutcrackers, blackbirds and many more.

Oiseaux Exotiques, Peints d’apres nature par Pauquet, published in 1836 in Paris. This is an extraordinarily beautiful work on exotic birds by C.L.Lemaire, his most important work. The superb hand-colored engraved plates after drawings by Pauquet, feature exotic and rare birds. In particular, Birds of Paradise, Hummingbirds, Parrots, and Toucans artistically arranged “d’Apres Nature”. The colors are vivid and fine. The condition of these prints is good, on contemporary creamy paper that is a soft aged white, with light or no foxing.
