Jiuzhaigou Valley

Chinese Jiuzhaigou Nine Village Valley waterfalls

Jiuzhaigou. In China they say, “those who have visited Jiuzhaigou won’t be surprised by the beauty of other aquatic landscapes”. Indeed, a solid argument. Jiuzhaigou is famous for the beautiful water scenery. Its scenic spot (Nine Village Valley) is in the mountains Min, 400 kilometers from the city of Chengdu, Sichuan province. Known as Jiuzhaigou, or Nine Village Valley, it is a natural pearl of Sichuan Province, located in the Aba Tibetan Autonomous district. Usually the water in lakes and rivulets is quiet calm. However, when the water flow falls from the steep, overgrown with tall trees ledges, it becomes turbulent and noisy. Besides, raising millions of splashing around, the waters sweep away everything on its path. By the way, there are 17 waterfalls there.

Although their drop height is not very high, they are very wide. From a distance they look like a vast beautiful water curtain covering rocky spurs. The Pearl Shoal Waterfall is a 310 meter-wide curtain of water. It is truly majestic sight. Among them, the most famous waterfall is Nozhlan. Besides, it is the most extensive in the whole China. In 1992 Jiuzhaigou Valley became recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and in 1997 – a World Biosphere Reserve.
