Moldavian artist Robert Andersen was born in Kishinev (Chisinau) in 1985. Robert Andersen started painting in 1999, the same year began to study history of art. Meanwhile, he began his own creative practice steps. Follower of realism in its strongest manifestation, Robert’s most favorite artists are Velasquez, Rembrandt and Degas. In 2007 Robert Andersen graduated from Kishinev Academy of Arts. Since 2003 he has been organizing solo exhibitions and participates in collective projects. According to the artist, in his work he has been always trying to learn all the best things from the best artists of previous generations… And his fantasies are stronger incentives for him, comparing to material objects. “If I need a material object to transpose my thoughts on canvas, I just find it.” The pictures of Robert Andersen are in private collections in Russia, the U.S., Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, Belarus, Ukraine, Italy, Switzerland, Romania, and of course, his native Moldova.
