These amazing paper sculptures – work by Los Angeles based artist Jeff Nishinaka. For a 28 years he has been making one of the most beautiful paper sculpture that currently exists. His commercial portfolio includes Galleries Lafayette, some projects for Sprint, Visa, and Paramount. In addition, the artist collaborated with probably one of the most recognizable brands in the world, Coca Cola.
According to Nishinaka, he began working with paper quite accidentally. “I have always wanted to be a painter. But while studying illustration, I received assignments in both a graphic design and fashion drawing class. At the same time to experiment with different mediums, one of them being paper. From then on, I began experimenting with different papers, finding ways to shape, bend, and round edges on it. I wanted to manipulate paper in the least invasive way, to keep the integrity and feel of it”.
