Romantic space tale by Elena Shlegel
The laws of reality somehow lose their power in the beautiful paintings of Belarusian artist Elena Shlegel. Each of her works has a comforting feeling of warmth, contentment and well-being. Her paintings are an emotional response – to forget about everyday problems. Her characters exist outside of time and space, being dissolved in the landscapes and still lifes. And the artist herself defines her style of painting as “court of Romanticism”. Beautiful artist Elena Shlegel was born July 16, 1965 in Minsk. Learned art in Minsk State Art College, Art Institute. Since 1996 – Member of the Artists’ Union of Belarus. Elena’s work known and loved in her homeland, Russia, Poland, Germany, Belgium, the USA and Japan.

Between day and night,
winter and summer,
reality and dream,
ups and downs
emptiness and creation.

Since 1988 Elena Shlegel has been a permanent participant of the national and international art exhibitions and projects. In 1996 she became a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists.

Awards:

1998 – winner of the republican exhibition “Personality and space, time.” II prize in the category “Painting”.
1998 – Member of the creative association the National Guild of Painters.
2004 – member of the creative association “Artel”.
