The biggest computer keyboard in the world
Located in the center of Yekaterinburg, the monument decorates the Iset river embankment. Of course, it attracts locals and tourists all over the country. A concrete “Keyboard” monument, in particular, reproduces the real computer keyboard on a scale 30:1. Also, the biggest computer keyboard concrete monument consists of 104 keys. Noteworthy, each of 104 giant concrete keys weigh between 100 and 500 kg! Arranged in recesses, the keys have intervals of 15 cm! And the total project area is 16 x 4 meters. The surface of the flat keys with raised symbols and function symbols of the alphabet placed in the same manner as in the conventional computer keyboard. The author of the glorious project Russian artist and sculptor Anatoly Vyatkin made it in 2005.
According to Anatoly Vyatkin, the idea to make such a monument came unexpectedly. He worked on one of the projects for the international exhibition. Spent a lot of time at the computer and realized that the keyboard today is in almost every home. Soon after, with the support of the art community and Yekaterinburg businessmen, he began work on the manufacture of sculpture details. However, it turned out to be more complicated than it might look for a person who did not sculpt. Concrete is an extremely heavy material for sculpture. In addition, the weight of the keys ranged from 80 to several hundred kilograms.
