Canadian wood carver Fred Zavadil
The first picture in this post – Madonna and Child, sculpture by Fred Zavadil, Canadian master wood carver and sculptor. Zavadil lives and works in Windsor, Ontario. Originally from Czechoslovakia, the artist moved to Canada in 1989. According to self-taught artist, he started sculpting as a hobby. However, now he is working as an independent artist accepting commissions for sculpting, and in particular, woodcarving. Also, painting and restoration. Noteworthy, his hyper-realistic sculptures decorate religious institutions, private and corporate collections.
