Friendship between a cat and a fox
The cat, who lives on the shores of Turkish Lake Van near the village’s Citoren, 25 km from the city of Van, and the local Fox spend time eat and play together. For more than a year, both – van cat and Fox have become a joy for fishermen of Lake Van. After eating fishermen’s fish, cat and Fox start to play. Kerem Abal, one of the fishermen, said that witnessing friendship of cat and Fox a year ago he was very surprised. “In my life I’ve met such friendship for the first time. Friendship between the Fox and the cat is incredible”. Van cats are very brave, catch mice, birds and lizards. They also eat fruit. They are truly exceptional, because they love to swim in the water.

This is one more true story of friendship between a dog and a fox. And this is not a movie and not staged. Tinni, the hound, lives with his owner – photographer Torgeir Berge in the forests of Norway. Once, when they were together for a walk in the forest, they met a wild fox, which they called Sniffer. Despite thousands of years of selective breeding and social circumstances that stood between them, they became best friends, and the fox is only a dog of the forest with the same reactions and movements as the dogs.

Inspired by this friendship, Torgeir Berge decided to release a book chronicling the canine duo called The Fox and the Dog. This message will be about fur and friendship, the Norwegian book will be translated into English. Extract from the book: “The reunion was as always full of joy and happiness when the dog and the fox met with playful jumps and dance in the frozen grass. Side by side Tinni and Sniffer trotted slowly through the forest and made tight tracks in the white grass, showing how close the two friends really were.” Being an animal lover, Norwegian photographer Torgeir Berge will donate money from the book to help his conservation and anti-fur trade campaign.

Sometimes the actual events exceed any fictional stories and incredible fairy story is quite possible in real life. A proof of this is the story of an ordinary red fox Sniffer and his friend, a dog named Tinni. This unusual couple lives in a Norwegian forest, and if the fox belongs to this place rightly by birth, the dog comes here only to meet and play with his sidekick.
