Talented American illustrator Janet Skiles is a nature-loving freelance artist living in Illinois. She graduated from Illinois University in Macomb. Janet Skiles has had a life-long love of picture books. As a child, her favorite things were reading, drawing animals, coloring, cutting and pasting, putting puzzles together, and dreaming of far-off places. Meanwhile, as an adult, her favorite things hasn’t changed much, her art exhibits a passion for nature, which grows from an idealistic view of the world. She considers her art “quasi-realism” with a whimsical depiction of natural scenes. “An artist is always speaking to the child in each of us, to our sense of open wonder and creativity.
