Metal Clouds by Ralph Helmick and Stuart Schechter
Metal Clouds by Ralph Helmick and Stuart Schechter
In fact, Ralph Helmick and Stuart Schechter just hung small objects – balls, metal letters, figures of animals and plants on threads. And what comes as a result of this ceiling-hung sculpture – you can call both sculptures and installations. Well, the precise definition – three-dimensional pointillism. Meanwhile, the studio Helmick + Schechter Sculpture embodied dreams of hundreds of children on the curly clouds. Three-dimensional works of designers from afar perceived by some subjects having a definite form and just hang in the air.
This creative duo formed in the early 1990s, when Helmick (born 1952) – a sculptor and art instructor started working together with Schechter (born 1958 – a portrait painter, sculptor, and mechanical engineer who has worked with NASA).
