One of the British finest contemporary artists, Ed Chapman specializes in mosaics and mosaic portraits. He has created numerous pieces of art from a range of materials from ceramic tile, guitar plectrums, sugar, glass and coins. According to Ed Chapman, he became a professional artist in 2001. His works are in more than 20 countries. Meanwhile, among his mosaics are portraits of Alan Sugar (done in sugar cubes) and Eric Cantona. And in April 2011, Chapman’s mosaic of Jimi Hendrix, made of 5000 guitar picks was auctioned for 23,000 pounds, with proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
