Born 1970 in Yokohama, Hina Aoyama is a talented Japanese paper artist. She has been engaged in super fine Lace paper cutting since 2000. Currently Aoyama lives and works in Ferney Volaire, France. These beautiful paper cuttings are done with a simple pair of scissors. Her passion to create finest papercut has become her way of life, as it is a highly time consuming work. Hina Aoyama doesn’t strictly follow traditions but she is trying to create a mixture of the traditional and modern styles. As a result, she produces her own world through this super fine lacy-paper-cuttings technique.
For her intricate patterns out of paper Hina Aoyama received several awards. In particular, for the first place in Le Grand Prix International in Museum Charmey Swiss in 2008, and Le Salon des Contemporains 2007 Honfleur. Besides, Triennal Palmares du Grand Prix des Distinctions Francais et Etrangers in 2007, and Gold medal at Le Grand Prix International M.C.A Cannes-Azurin in 2006 and 2007. Paper lace by Hina Aoyama decorate Museum of Miniatures in Lyon, France, and Cosulat Thailande in Geneva.
