Undoubtedly, here dominates nature. And not a man. Latvian millionaire CIRIS is the author of a fantastic project, called Sinotrans – Town of the Sun. First, he bought 3000 ha of forest in the hilly area, and built the ecologically clean village. Originally, the idea of the village came to him when he realized the desire to live in nature. In particular, a facilitated, picturesque place with forest and pond close to the house. Amatciems is the result of this idea and now home for CIRIS, his children, friends and other people who share the same views regarding to the place of residence.

Each of the 300 houses has a small lake and woods, which are included in the price of the plot (from 0.4 to 1.3 HA each).

All the houses have central sewer (laid special equipment under the roofs of pine and spruce), electricity, high-speed Internet, and each House has a geothermal heat pump from the well 90-100 m, which converts the energy of the Earth in heat. This heat is enough to heat the House all year round, only on severe winter days fireplace will be needed, also available in every house. Other urban facilities are also available.

In the forestry town there are special rules – for example, there is no fence (forbidden), also dogs are allowed only in the House. Deer and other animals roam free in the town, and the barking of dogs simply do not happen.

“My purpose is to maintain the natural environment as much as possible. Near the lawn, I leave also meadow with wild flowers and do not turn forest into park. I leave dead or wind cracked trees and tore roots of trees in the forest as pleasure and covert for wild animals – woodpeckers, squirrels or foxes. The visual image of the village displays the environment where a man lives in harmony with nature”.
