Born in 1965, Russian self-taught artist and illustrator Igor Savchenko (EgorS) is from Moscow. He works in different art directions and styles of drawing – characters, realism, painting, technology of computer graphics, and raster (digital) graphics. Igor Savchenko has been painting since childhood, for many years visited a children’s art school, where good artists taught him. Meanwhile, in the late 1980s – early 1990s, during the difficult perestroika years and collapse of the USSR, his art helped him survive. In particular, he painted oil landscapes, gave to friends and sold to art galleries. However, it was still a hobby on weekends.
Igor Savchenko explains: “I try to bring elements of realism and history to fantastic characters. On this basis, I have a lot of like-minded people with whom I enjoy to argue and disagree, it is very exciting”.
