“Scarlet Sails” is one of the biggest, most exciting, most beautiful and at the same time, the most technically demanding event in our country. Scarlet Sails has become a traditional holiday for the top graduates, it enters the biggest and most interesting events of the world. The preparation to the next show lasts for many months, and installation of all structures, light and pyrotechnics – more than 2 weeks. Photos by Marina Lystseva.

On the night of Monday the 24th of June the waters of the Neva are lit up with fireworks, lasers and light. In the Neva River between the Palace Embankment and the Hare Island was set pontoon length of 430 meters, on which are installed the light effects, burners, fans and pyrotechnic fountains. Installation of all equipment lasted three weeks and two days before the installation of the pontoon. In the preparation participated 90 people not only from Russia but also from Germany.
In total, the program had 14 songs by various authors, who succeeded each other. Pyrotechnic Overture, part 2, the composer Hans Zimmer, then song from the soundtrack to the film ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.
