Swarovski Kristallwelten museum
The museum “Swarovski Crystal World” is located in Wattens, Austria. Swarovski Kristallwelten museum is a real island of surrealism, right in the heart of the Alps. “Crystal Worlds of Swarovski” is located in the town of Wattens, near Innsbruck, 15 km away from the main factory of Swarovski. 15 underground halls, each of which is a completely new installation of light, color, sound, movement and reflections. It’s difficult to photograph here, there isn’t perception of reality, and not a word about the history of Crystal or Swarovski, only sparkling fairy tale in an underground labyrinth.
Founded by Daniel Swarovski in the Austrian village of Wattens in 1895, Swarovski has become the world’s leading manufacturer of precision-cut crystal. And today, more than 110 years on, Swarovski remains a family-run enterprise under the management of Daniel Swarovski’s fourth- and fifth-generation descendants.
Ice stalagmites as pinnacles rise up, with changing light conditions on their surface. The same space is constantly changing and you totally lose sense of reality by looking at this color show. The creation of Fabrizio Plessi is excellently designed and executed. With music from the depths of Crystal stems arise and melt again replacing each other various video compositions of Thomas Feuerstein. And on top of the tubes-portholes shines greenish light that emphasizes the unearthly beauty of this wonderful world.
