Born in New Ulm, Minnesota, on January 19, 1930, Tippi Hedren was American actress and former fashion model. however, she is best known for her roles in two Alfred Hitchcock films, “The Birds” and “Marnie”. And later, her fans remembered her extensive efforts in animal rescue at Shambala Preserve, wildlife habitat which she founded in 1983. Meanwhile, her paternal grandparents were immigrants from Sweden, and her maternal ancestry is German and Norwegian.
Also, Tippi Hedren is the mother of actress Melanie Griffith. Hedren had a successful modeling career from 1950 to 1961, appearing on covers of national magazines.

In fact, it was Hitchcock, who discovered her, while looking for an actress who possessed something of the sophistication, self-assurance and cool-blonde sex appeal of Grace Kelly. However, later, Hedren indicated that she didn’t want to be known as the next Grace Kelly but rather as the first Tippi Hedren.

On April 13, 2011, at the Cinema Arts Center in Huntington, NY, Hedren stated in an interview with Turner Classic Movie’s Ben Mankiewicz that because she refused Hitchcock’s sexual advances, Hitchcock effectively stunted her career. Accordingly, these events are the basis for the upcoming October, 2012 HBO film The Girl in which Sienna Miller plays Hedren and Toby Jones plays Hitchcock.
