Beautiful message in Leaf carving art
Inspired by the beauty of nature, leaf carving art appeared not long ago. First, the artist carefully chooses selective leaves from the Chinar tree – native to India, Pakistan and China. In fact, Chinar tree leaves closely resemble the leaf of a Maple tree. Meanwhile, the leaves undergo thoughtful 60 step process! It includes shaving, pressing, curing, dying, and so on. The master also carefully removes outer surface of the leaf, without cutting or removing the leaf veins. In particular, the veins add detail into the subject matter of the carving.
Iranian artist Omid Asadi, now living in Manchester, makes stunning paintings on dry leaves. On his page he wrote: “… I’m trying to give the leaves a new life and make them part of the art …” In my opinion, amazingly fragile and delicate works. In the run-up to the autumn – great ideas to try themselves to do something like that. The main thing is to have patience and appropriate tools.
Using the leaf as a canvas, skilled artist takes full advantage of the leafs form and structure to create an artistic carving. After special processing, the leaf blade forms a natural permanent pigment, so the color is stable, and corrosion resistant. Besides, an anti-aging treatment helps the leaves exceed the durability of thick paper. Of course, the size of these leaves vary, since no two leaves are exactly the same. Each leaf is approximately 8 to 10 inches in size. The finish product is strong, durable, natural and beautiful. Undoubtedly, Leaf art can be an excellent gift or collection.
