Spotted Panther has become a symbol of the art-house thanks to the director Jeanne Toussaint, whose nickname was “Panther”. In a short movie entitled “The Odyssey of Cartier” (L’Odyssee de Cartier) the spotted animal goes on a journey. Its journey begins in a snow-covered Moscow, then goes to the mountains inhabited by a Chinese dragon. After crossing the mountain range the panther appears in India, where it was kind enough to toss an elephant Taj Mahal on the back. From there, by a biplane of Alberto Santos-Dumont, aviation pioneer the panther gets in its native Paris, where the traveling big cat is welcomed by a supermodel Shalom Harlow. All the panther meets on its way is decorated with products of Cartier.

In 1904 Louis Cartier created wristwatch for Brazilian friend Alberto Santos-Dumont the Santos, they were the first wristwatch made for men.
